Mango punch

Mango is a very popular fruit on this island. It comes in many varieties: carrot mango, José mango, there are also American mango but they’re less numerous than others. Here’s my recipe for mango punch which you should, of course, enjoy in moderation!

Recipe for mango punch

Preparation time10 minutes


  • Peel the mangoes, discard the stones and cut the flesh into pieces.
  • Liquidise.
  • Pour the rum into a salad bowl, add the mango, sugar, vanilla pod (cut in half), and the lemon juice.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Serve over crushed ice.

It is best to use carrot mangoes, one of the tastiest varieties.


  • 1 large salad bowl (3 to 4 litres)
  • 3 litres white rum
  • 3kg ripe mangoes
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 2 vanilla pods
  • Juice of 2 lemons
