Gîte Vivette Thiburce

Hiking gîte at Saint-Paul

  • At the heart of the remote village of Roche Plate, Mrs Thiburce's gite is a refuge with two 6 bed dormitories, one 8 bed dormitory and a twin room accessible to people with reduced mobility. It's an essential stop for hikers crossing Mafate over several days.

The gite is equipped with shared bathrooms, bed linen (sheets) and blankets, bath towels are not provided. The gite has bathrooms with hot water, except when there is no sun, the same goes for electricity. The electricity is solar powered and therefore limited and cannot be used to charge cameras, phones etc. Please make your own arrangements.
15 minutes' walk from the dormitories, along a steep path, dinner with home-made rhum arrangé (take a torch for the walk back) and breakfast are served at a family run table d'hôte. For security reasons, you cannot heat or cook food yourself. There is no kitchen available for guests.
This gite is a member of the Association of Mountain Lodge Managers network (AGGM). Animals are not admitted. Price shown is for the low season.
There is a small shop nearby where you can get basic provisions.
For special requests (cot or anything else) please call the owner directly.
