Interview Antoine Bizet

Mountain bike riders

On the volcanic lava flows

1.      During filming in Reunion Island, which places and experiences really stayed with you?

The volcano is just the craziest place as it’s rare to see such steep trails mountain bike riders, and it’s always great fun to be able to ride our bikes here. In the volcanic ashes, it’s not clear if we should be skiing or mountain biking!
2.      What will be your abiding memory from your time filming in Reunion Island?
I loved breakfasting in Creole restaurants, and the local culture with its music and great atmosphere. It was just fantastic! It’s amazing finding out about all the local customs!
3.      What was the most surprising thing you learned about Reunion Island?
I found the people really friendly and welcoming and the forest very dense and untouched. There’s lots of magnificent, wild nature on your doorstep, that you can get to both on footand by bike, not just at the volcano site but also along the ocean shore! There’s such a huge degree of diversity in this island's landscapes!
4.      Why would you recommend Reunion Island to your friends?
I would recommend Runion Island for its incredible mountain biking descents, obviously, but also for its beautiful beaches and dream climate!! I’d also recommend it for travel prices, the fact that French is the language spoken there and for its restaurants! Reunion Island is brimming with a huge range of assets that make it an UNMISSABLE destination!
