Coopérative Provanille (La)

Plantation, Agricultural heritage in Bras-Panon
  • Created in 1968, the Bras-Panon Vanilla Cooperative now includes almost 140 producers. The cooperative has been transforming its members' vanilla pods in the authentic Reunion tradition for over 60 years. The vanilla is grown in the east and south-east of the island where the most beautiful forests are found.

  • Unique on the island, the Cooperative offers a 45 minute tour that reveals the secrets of the preparation of the famous "black gold".
Passionate about this heritage, the guides unveil the secrets of the pollination of the vanilla flower (discovered by Edmond Albius, a Reunion slave) through to the ancestral and traditional methods used to transform the vanilla pod.
Take the opportunity to be carried away by vanilla's sweet perfume with a "bon p'ti cafe" (a great cup of coffee)!
