Oldest golf course
You’ll find the oldest course at the Bourbon Golf Club which was created in 1969 and spreads across 68 hectares in the heart of the Etang-Salé forest in the South. It’s a real joy to play the 18 holes (including 4 five-shot holes) of this 6-kilometre course dotted with palms, casuarinas, flame trees, tamarinds and bougainvillea. The lush greenery and black sandy soil have an instant exotic feel.

Less flat but with superb views over the Indian Ocean, the Bassin Bleu Golf Course unfurls above Reunion’s west coast. Both varied and challenging, the18 holes take you from the shade of eucalyptus trees to the edges of ravines. At the 4th hole, there’s even a canyon to cross! As reward for their efforts, golfers can follow their session with a restorative massage and treatments at the Kaolin wellness centre.

The Colorado Golf Club is smaller but has beautiful greens and 9 holes, all nestling in the Colorado leisure park at La Montagne above Saint-Denis. This is a hilly golf course as you might expect, but it’s also the highest on Reunion Island, with an average elevation of 600 metres above sea level. The elevation range makes it a challenging course, both technically and physically, with lots of slopes and a few climbs to negotiate…

The Beauséjour Sport Club in Sainte-Marie offers magnificent views of Saint-Denis and the Indian Ocean, as well as a driving range in a lovely natural setting. The covered 11-tee driving range is equipped with state-of-the-art artificial lawn and numerous targets.
