The Grand Raid 2018

A legendary race

Push yourself to the limit on Reunion Island!

 

The Grand Raid de La Réunion will take place on the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st October 2018. For this 26th edition, 6,190 participants are expected from all over the world, for all four races. The most experienced sportsmen and women will cross the superb landscapes of the island (Cilaos, Mafate, Salazie…) as they take on the 165 km of the Diagonale des fous, the iconic race of the event.

One race, several nationalities!

The trail-runners participating inthese races come from around forty different countries. They will have travelled across the globe to push themselves to the ultimate limits, from France, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Andorra, Germany, England, Ireland, Argentina, Scotland, Japan, Hong-Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Canada, the United States, Sweden, Morocco, Iceland, Slovenia, Norway, Russia, Romania, Croatia, Israel, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Martinique, Guadeloupe, New Caledonia, Guyana, French Polynesia, South Africa, Mauritius, Madagascar, India and Mayotte.

 

 

The race of international champions

Among the sportsmen and women, some international ultra-marathon champions have taken on this challenge. Among them, François D’Haene, Antoine Guillon, Andrea Huser, Emilie Lecomte, Javier Dominguez, Maxime Cazajous, Sylvain and Sébastien Camus, to name but a few, have crossed the island on the prestigious Grand Raid trails.
