Opening a branch of the Archipel des Métiers d’Art in Cilaos was a joint venture between local players (CIVIS, Cilaos Town Hall, Chamber of Trades and Crafts, the Highlands Development Commission and local businesses).
This branch is located in the old School of the Holy Sisters, on rue du Père Boiteau, in the centre of Cilaos. -
It is a high quality, attractive and consistent tourist attraction, highlighting the Creole way of life and the expertise of local craftsmen.
The activities covered by the Archipel fall into in 3 categories:
- Reunion Island arts and crafts with 12 shops:
Cannelle, Fairy’s Hands, Grain d mai, Pass Temps, Floréa, Dominique Boulanger Photographie, Escale, Aquarelle Houot, Ti Macaron Péi et Bulbul, Thank You et Tao, Beejoux and De fil en aiguille.
- Reunion Island gastronomy with the...It is a high quality, attractive and consistent tourist attraction, highlighting the Creole way of life and the expertise of local craftsmen.

A garden, an esplanade and a bandstand have been constructed and cultural events are held there every weekend and during the school holidays.
The Archipel enables craftsmanship to be developed through local expertise while respecting the wealth of the region and its traditions for visitors looking for an authentic experience.
