Welcome to a new space designed for you as a place to live, meet people, learn and experience culture, in the last untouched industrial building of the Grands Bois factory.

It was built in the early 19th century using basalt, sea sand and lime, originally with a shingle roof, and has since had a number of purposes with the successive expansions of the sugar factory: workshop, barn, sugar warehouse, followed by offices, archives and the factory’s sugar and rum laboratory.

As the former nerve centre of the factory until its closure in 1993, and of a group of lands including Grands Bois, La Cafrine, Manapany, l’Anse and Terre Rouge, the building had to find a public life to commensurate with its long, varied history.
It has now turned into a vibrant space at the heart of Grands Bois, Saint-Pierre and the Great South, promoting culture, artistic expression and personal development.
It brings together under one roof a flexible 500-sqm exhibition gallery, an artist’s residence, a versatile space for all kinds of events, meetings and
conferences, and a lounge on the first floor to enjoy a drink or coffee and a few tapas while relaxing in front of the sea. The location can also host training courses, workshops, coaching sessions... and the list goes on.
The artist’s residence, located on the first floor, with a small adjacent apartment, is a sanctuary for creativity, offering visiting artists a vast 150-sqm workspace, flooded with natural light. Galerie Cinq Dimensions aims to encourage the launch of innovative projects and support artistic initiatives that challenge conventions and push the boundaries of traditional artistic mediums, hence the name “Cinq Dimensions” (Five Dimensions). The Fifth Dimension is a higher state of consciousness. It is a new world filled with joy and love, emphasising essential human values: altruism, sharing, love, honesty, fraternity and empathy.
By providing a platform for experimentation and collaboration, the gallery aims to redefine artistic landscapes and offer a new living space, something that was missing in the South.
Welcome, you are at home.
