Le Gîte Là-Haut is a 3-bedroom gîte in L’Entre-Deux which can sleep up to 14 guests.

Le Gîte Là-Haut (formerly Gîte Emile) has been entirely renovated to create a warm and friendly atmosphere and a comfortable setting, right in the heart of the Dimitile mountains. Long-distance hikers stopping on their way will be welcomed with herbal tea made from plants from the garden, and a comfortable bed of high quality. Guests can help themselves to a plaid if they want to stay on the terrace to enjoy views of the volcano and the Saint-Pierre coastline.

Meals are cooked in-house from fresh local ingredients. Free drinks are served at sunset, along with savoury nibbles that follow the seasons. Meals include a starter, a main dish and a dessert. Vegetarian and gluten-free meals can also be prepared. The desserts are freshly-made every morning (dark-chocolate cream, lemon tart, chocolate fondant cake, etc.) to be served at dinner with the house speciality, “rhum arrangé” (flavoured rum).
Le Gîte Là-Haut can be reached via a number of hiking paths ranging from the easiest to the most challenging. There’s the legendary Bayonne trail, the Zèbre trail (both starting in the charming village of L’Entre-Deux), the Grande-Jument trail and the Boeuf La Chapelle trail which starts at the Portail du Dimitile car park.
Alternatively, you can reach the gîte by bike. Last but not least, it is also possible to arrive by 4x4 vehicle, with prior permission from the Tourist Office for the South.
