Julmos Leisure Activities organises electric motorboat outings on Mare à Joncs in Cilaos. The company has 2 types of boat available, neither of which requires a license – one with 5 seats and a steering wheel like a car’s, very simple to use, and the other with 3 seats, steered one-handed by means of a joystick. Both types are so easily handled that a 7-year-old child can steer them (accompanied by his or her parents, of course!). Their simple steering mechanisms also make them suitable for use by persons with reduced mobility. All boast are very stable and unsinkable, with maximum speeds of 7 km an hour, and can be taken out unaccompanied by anyone of 16 and over. Life-jackets are obligatory. The park is open daily from 10 a.m. during school holidays, and on weekends outside school holidays. The stretch of water has been equipped with fountains that are lit up at night, and nocturnal outings are possible every Saturday until 10 p.m.
