  • Situated in the cirque of Cilaos, the Maison de la Broderie (Embroidery Centre) offers introductions to embroidery. Permanent exhibition-sale of Cilaos "jours" (openwork embroidery).

  • "The daughters of Doctor Mac Auliffe, the first doctor to set up a practice in the Cirque of Cilaos, taught the Cilaos embroidery technique to the girls in the village, using patterns that came from France. Of little value at the time, these pieces are now collector items.
    Open Monday to Thursday from 8am to 12 noon and from 1pm to 4pm, and on Fridays from 8am to 12 noon.
    Closed Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays including 1st January, 1st May and 25th December.
    Free for children under 8."
