Sirandane (La)

Enjoy a day of Reunion Island culture with friends or as a family, at a traditional cooking class at Tonton Dadi in the Abondance district on the Route de Takamaka in Saint-Benoît.

The day begins with the traditional ‘risofé’ (heated rice) and a ‘ti café grillé’ (home-roasted coffee).
Depending on the chosen dishes for the day, you’ll prepare light bites (samosas, chili bites, etc.), main dishes (cari, rougail, etc.) and then ‘péi’ local cakes for dessert.
La Sidarane uses local products and dishes are cooked in a wood-fired oven, according to long-standing traditions.
Goni vide i tien pas deboute! (A man with nothing in his belly has no strength) It’s time for the aperitif, with homemade flavoured rum and a selection of dishes served in a banana tree leaf, according to local tradition.
The day ends with dessert and herbal tea to aid digestion at around 3pm.
