  • In Saint-Denis, Villa Repiquet was built between 1839 and 1844 under the orders of the owner of the plot of land, Benjamin Bédier. It was built in traditional masonry and beach pebbles, which was rare for a dwelling house of that time.

    Sophie Repiquet, the 4th generation in the family, bought the shares of her co-heirs in 2022. She is now the villa’s sole owner. She began a major renovation project that is to be completed in 2026.
    Sophie Repiquet’s wish is to make her family home a cultural and event space and make it accessible to all.
    During cultural visits, Sophie or the guide will be delighted to tell the story of the villa architecture, the history of the family, in the area for nearly 100 years, and the project Sophie has set up to enhance the heritage and the Reunionese culture. The session concludes with a video projection lasting about ten minutes, with old family photos taken in the villa during the 20th century.
