The Bienvenue à la Ferme-labelled farmers on Reunion Island are set on representing the Reunionese agricultural world, and do so above all by providing the warmest of welcomes, whether through:

If you’re a food lover and curious by nature, treat yourself to an eatery or farm-inn. It’s an ideal opportunity to meet the island’s farmers and enjoy 100% local cuisine. On the menu: leafy vegetable and chayote pie, palm-kernel salad and chicken curry. Everything prepared with freshly harvested seasonal farm products. Straight from the basket onto the plate, with views of the Indian Ocean or the Cirques as a bonus !

You’re not travelling alone? In the Highlands, opt for a spacious and very comfortable gite in the heart of a farming estate. From bungalows to villas, accommodation choices on our farms will ensure you enjoy an unforgettable stay. And when you talk about producers’ farms, you’re also talking about meticulously prepared breakfasts. In order to bring your taste buds gently awake, you start off with a generous fruit basket. Guavas, mangos, papaya and lychees – there are never enough of them. And don’t miss out on a bowlful of heated rice either, and a few slices of toast with farm jam. Finish up with a good cup of Bourbon Pointu coffee and there you go – ready to make the utmost of your day!

Tour and tasting session: a gourmet getaway on the farm

The Bienvenue à la Ferme network’s farmers on Reunion Island above all want you to get to know their farms. For a rewarding, fruit-filled getaway, treat yourself to a guided tour of an organic banana plantation. In addition to the warm welcome you’ll be given, you’ll get to know everything about banana harvesting thanks to your guide’s explanations and anecdotes. Then off you go to the estate’s shop to sample the farm’s products. Dried, pickled, as flour or in a jar of jam: here, the fruit comes in a thousand and one forms!

Feel like adding a touch of colour to your holida y? Then head for La Plaine des Grègues, nicknamed the “capital of Pei saffron”, for a visit to a turmeric farm. A dream opportunity to learn about the traditional ways of cultivating a spice indissociable from the ultimate island. When you’re there, don’t miss out on sampling the turmeric-based products created by the estate’s farmers. On the menu: jellies, jams, syrups and powdered spices. Delicious!

If you’re a fan of herbal teas and essential oils, or simply curious by nature, Reunion Island has the experience you’re looking for. In Saint-Joseph, lose yourself in the heart of a tea plantation, in the midst of tea-tree fields and forests. Accompanied by a guide, discover how the plants are harvested and then processed into essential oils. Also on the programme: tasting session of the farm’s products, including its flavoursome white tea. And don’t forget to pack a picnic composed of vegetables, fruit and local cheeses to munch away at to your heart’s content in the farm’s garden!
