Simplified visa process for Chinese passport holders

Chinese nationals are now exempt from visa requirements for stays of up to 15 days. To arrange their trip to Réunion, they have two options:

1. Contact a travel agency in China that offers trips to Réunion to purchase the entire package (flight + accommodation). This agency will coordinate with a local travel agency in Réunion that is authorized to apply for the visa exemption.

These two steps will ensure that you have a wonderful stay on our island, thanks to professional guidance and assistance with the administrative procedures required for visa exemption.

Online reservations (such as Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.) will not be accepted.

Despite the visa exemption procedure, the PAF (Border Police) reserves the right to deny you entry into the country.

You must submit your application to partner agencies at least 10 days before your arrival. No applications will be processed after this deadline.

Notes

→ Should your stay exceed 15 days, you will need to apply for a visa at the French consulate or embassy.

→ You may also go on a 24hr visa run to Mauritius then come back to Reunion Island, provided you organise your second stay via one of the three options detailed above.

→ The maximum duration of authorised stay on Reunion Island is 90 days per 6 month period for up to 15 days at a time.

→ Given that Reunion Island is not part of the Schengen Area, visas for mainland France are not valid. Consult a French embassy or consulate.
