New features of the most mythical of mountain races: an extended course of 165 km on the program for 10,217 meters of elevation gain. After Mare à Boue, the trail runners will go straight to the Caverne Dufour gîte instead of going towards the Coteau Kerveguen.
Departure on Thursday October 20, 2022, from 9 p.m. on the Ravine Blanche site, Saint-Pierre seafront in the south of the island.
Among the favorites of this 2022 edition: Ludovic Pommeret, Daniel Jung, Benat Marmissolle, Antoine Guillon, Julien Chorier, David Hauss, Grégoire Curmer and among the ladies, Courtney Dauwalter, Sabrina Stanley, Jocelyne Pauly, not to mention the local Sophie Blard.
Trail de Bourbon
New: more kilometers on the first section and up to Marla (a little over 5 km). Departure will take place at 8:00 p.m. Passing through La Nouvelle in Mafate before joining Marla for a final section of the route identical to that of 2021.
Route: 109 km. 6,260 m of elevation gain. Departure 8 p.m. at the Cilaos stadium, Friday October 21, 2022.
Mascareignes
The course of the Mascareignes will remain identical to last year with a start from the Hell-Bourg stadium.
Route: 72 km. 3,874 m of elevation gain. Departure on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 1:00 a.m. Passage of the race to Mafate, the New.
Zembrocal Trail (per team)
New: a start will be given from Langevin and the Caverne des Hirondelles instead of Domaine Vidot.
Route: 148 km. 7,980 m of elevation gain. Departure from Saint-Joseph, at the Caverne des Hirondelles.
As in previous years, the runners will cross the finish line at the Redoute stadium in Saint-Denis, in the north of the island.
These races are acclaimed by great trail runners from mainland France and abroad to compete with runners from Reunion. To be continued !
