The RIVIÈRE DU MÂT Distillery was founded in 1886 and is one of Reunion Island’s oldest distilleries still in operation today.

To carry on this age-old tradition, the Master Distiller uses ancestral expertise ensuring high standards and accuracy at all times, to make sure that the RIVIÈRE DU MÂT rums keep their great reputation throughout the centuries.
In Saint-Benoît, the Distillery makes rum using the syrup from local sugar cane plantations, which is a product that reveals the wonders of the terroir of Reunion Island.

The Distillery also has an on-site shop called ‘La Cave à Rhums’, with a wide range of iconic products.
Guided tours:
3 tours a day, bookings are compulsory, from Tuesday to Saturday at 10:30am, 2:30pm and 4:30pm. Duration of the tour: 1.5 hrs
Bookings are compulsory by phone or email, 20 people maximum per group.
Closed-toe shoes are required and comfortable clothing is recommended, free parking and suitable for people with reduced mobility.
No tours on public holidays.
La Cave à Rhums is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6:30pm.
