Observatoire Astronomique des Makes

The daytime tours are 1.5-hours long and you will discover the Jaï Sing room with traditional instruments showing the main axes and planes of reference (axis of the world, meridian plane, the equator, ecliptic plane, galactic plane), the Newton room with 5 telescopes, the Ptolemy room with sundials, the Einstein room reserved for exhibitions, etc.
Depending on the weather, it may be possible to study the surface of the sun and possibly the planet Venus (possible at certain times and on certain dates). Every day at 9:30am, except Sundays and public holidays.
Stargazing evenings are regularly organised for the general public (see the website for dates).
Booking compulsory.
The Observatory has a meeting and exhibition room.
